"Freedom to Dance" by Richard Gleave

Dear All,

The Freedom to Dance concept was born in January 2010 in response to the banning of couples dancing in the UK Championships, a Championship that has a history going back to 1959.

We believe that the Freedom to Dance, Adjudicate, Organise or Teach cannot be granted by only one organisation.

Freedom to Dance is based on fairness, integrity and human principle. We believe that Freedom to Dance is a human right.

The Presidium of the WDSF needs to realise that the FORCE of their banning policy is being slowly extinguished by the POWER and involvement of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), and the recognition of foul play within the WDSF by the IOC.

The POWER of the principle of Freedom to Dance will defeat the injustice of the FORCE used by WDSF.

The motto of the modern Olympic Movement coined by Pierre De Coubertin (1863-1937) is "Peace Among Nations".

I hope sincerely that the Presidium of the WDSF heed these words.

I repeat "Peace among Nations".

A CALL FOR ACTION:

To all Member Bodies of the WDSF, I urge you to contact your International Olympic Committee and give him/her this latest information regarding the IOC rulings from the USA and other countries.

If every member country in the WDSF follows the principles of Freedom and the IOC, their couples and the Dance World would be able to live in harmony.

"MAKE HASTE, MAKE HASTE FOR THERE IS SO LITTLE TIME"!

"PEACE AMONG NATIONS"!

Richard

Note; Richard Gleave (with his former wife, Janet Gleave) is a past World, European, British Professional Champion. This year, 2012, he will be receiving the OBE (Offficer of the Order of the British Empire) from Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
