OHIO STAR BALL 2012

Columbus, Ohio.

It was a great finale at the Professional Latin Championships for the Ohio Star Ball.

1^st Ricardo Cocchi & Yulia Zagoruychenko (NY, USA) won both the Professional Latin group event and the Showdance. The group event was won with almost perfect scores (they lost one first place in Paso Doble) and their Jive Showdance solo was well received by the audience.

2^nd Mauricio Vescovo & Andre Vaidilaite (CANADA) took second in the group event and third in the Showdance solo portion.

3^rd Andrei Kazlouski & Asta Sigvaldadorttir** (NY, USA) took third in the group event and fifth in the Showdance solo.

4^th Nikolay Voronovich & Maria Nikolishiva (CA, USA) were fourth in both challenges.

5^th Yegor Novikov & Yana Blinova (CA, USA) were fifth in the group and they placed sixth in the Showdance solo. This must have been a disappointing result for them considering they placed third overall at the USDC.

6^th Andre & Natalie Paramonov (FL, USA) were sixth in the group but in the Showdance they took second place.

** Andrei and Asta, the 3^rd Place couple, will be performing for the first time in Hawai‘i at the Divino Ritmo Dance Grand Ball on Saturday December 1^st at the Sheraton Waikiki Hoel. Their partnership together only began in March 2012 and they have had great success by being finalists at the Professional Rising Star Championships in Blackpool in May and finalists at the United States Dancesport Championships in September. Andrei is originally from Minsk, Belarus and Asta is from Reykjavik, Iceland, they now reside in New York. I understand that they will be giving a workshop on Sunday after the Grand Ball.
