COMPETING DANCERS FROM HAWAI'I Part II

  

The first session of the USA Dance Southwest Regional National Qualifying Event was held on Friday February 1^st 2013.

The following results of the couples representing Hawai‘i were obtained from their website.

Pre-Championship Senior I Standard (Ballroom)

Seven (7) couples danced a Final in Waltz, Tango, Slow Foxtrot, and Quickstep.

Miguel Heraclio with Reiko Ota placed 4^th by placing 3^rd in Waltz, and 4^th in the other three dances.

Ivan John with Nancy Luckie placed 5^th by placing 4^th in Waltz and 5^th in the other three dances.

Pre-Championship Senior II Standard (Ballroom)

Five (5) couples danced a Final in Waltz, Tango, Slow Foxtrot, and Quickstep.

Ivan John with Nancy Luckie placed 2^nd by placing 1^st in Waltz and 2^nd in the other three dances.

Miguel Heraclio with Reiko Ota placed 3rd by placing 3^rd in all four dances.

Pre-Championship Senior I Latin

Three (3) couples danced a Final in Samba, Cha Cha, Rumba, and Jive

Edwin and Charlotte Bugarin placed 1^st in this event by placing 1^st in all four dances. However one Judge gave them 2^nd in Cha Cha and Rumba, and two Judges gave them a 2^nd and 3^rd in the Jive.

Pre-Championship Senior II Latin

Three (3) couples danced a Final in Samba, Cha Cha, Rumba, and Jive

By placing 1^st in all four dances with 1^st places from all five judges Edwin and Charlotte Bugarin won this event.

Calvin and Debra Ota finished in 3^rd place with 3^rd places in all four dances.

Pre Championship Senior III Latin

Only one (1) couple danced in this event Samba, Cha Cha, Rumba and Jive

Calvin and Debra Ota danced uncontested and were place 1^st in all four dances except one Judge gave them a 2^nd in their Rumba.

Five (5) Judges were selected to judge the above events they were: - Teresa Shiry (CA), Carol Montez-Bressan (CA), Nicholas Cotton (CA), Victor Veyrasset (CA), Jennifer Booth (CO).
