WDC - World Dance Council - Press Release

 Freedom To Dance For All Japanese Competitors In All WDC Recognized Events In Japan

Press Release issued by the WDC General and Company Secretary on behalf of the President and Board of Directors of WDC Ltd

The WDC is pleased to announce that they hosted a successful meeting between all constituent member organizations of the WDC member JNCPD with a view to clarify the rights and freedom to compete for all Japanese competitors.

Delegates attending the meeting were:
WDC – President Donnie Burns MBE, Vice-President Fred Bijster, Vice-President Rudolph Trautz
JDC – Isao Nakagawa, Hironori Ohta
JBDF – Chu Shinoda, Masahiro Yabumoto, Sumiko Murata
JCF – Hirofumi Amano, Osamu Kaihou

In a friendly and very productive meeting, Chaired by WDC President Donnie Burns MBE, the current situation in Japan was discussed and the parties agreed to the following:

JDC, JBDF and JCF run their Closed internal competition circuits in Japan for their competitors, but ALL competitors from all three organizations are free to compete in all international WDC recognized competitions run by any of the three organizations without hindrance or restriction.

This Press Release has been issued in accordance with the express agreement of all organizations present at the meeting and in accordance with the procedure agreed.

This breakthrough in negotiations now enables all Japanese competitors to dance the Asian Open Championships 2013, part of the Asian Tour and a WDC World Super Series event.

The WDC would like to thank JDC, JBDF and JCF for their commitment to the continued WDC policy of Freedom to Dance and the WDC Open Market Policy.
