I want to share a memorable evening of an unconventional good time last night in Paradise, of uninhibited dancing, a mélange of contemporary & ballroom, drinks that lomi-lomied the senses, topped off by a late meal that replicated a romantic picnic amidst a red grape vineyard outside Florence.
We were there last night to a packed house (albeit a small cozy theater in-the-round, with capacity for 50-60 people) - it was really satisfying, an off-the-beaten-track, uncensored venue for performing arts - last night was all about MOVEMENT of the physical body, what the body and the senses can do when put to the task...
A couple of pre-show mojitos and margaritas at the neighborhood Soul de Cuba put us in an even more anticipatory mood!:)
The show, including Lucas & Yanna and Divino Ritmo's Dance Ensemble was very entertaining - vignettes of what you can do when you are uninhibited and you just dance....
And you can't ask for a more appropriate venue, Art's at Marks Garage!!!
A movement which started on the mainland to highlight performing arts of all genres, Hawaii's Fringe Festival provided a venue for local artists to boldly showcase their work....
For the love of self expression through movement, an art form:

The evening was topped off by a late supper of delectable porcini & mozzarella crustinis and finger-licking scrumptious Florentine style flounder, so light and flaky, so much like in Rome when we began our dinners at 9pm.
I was overcome by memories of Porchetta sandwiches at the Trevi Fountain, gelato at the Piazza di Spagna, stumbling along the cobbled streets down the Spanish Steps in stiletto heels, and my mother singing unabashedly as she always did... "Three Coins in the Fountain." She would have enjoyed the Fringe Festival last night.
